I just had to write about this. It's something that has been happening to me in the past 2 weeks. I was contacted by a woman who said she saw my profile somewhere and wanted to be friends. I have this thing about not turning down an offer of friendship so I replied. She wrote me back and sent a picture of herself. All this time I felt bad because deep down I wasn't interested in being friends with her. At least that's what I thought. She told me she was a refugee from Liberia now residing in a camp in Senegal and her parents were both murdered during the war in Liberia. I consider myself to be a compassionate person so when this story did not elicit any pity or compassion from me I was disturbed. Disturbed by my lack of compassion, that is. I still wrote back because I felt obligated to be nice. I waited for the excitement of having a new friend to come but still, every time I checked my emails and hers was there I got this sinking feeling . The third email came and that's when I knew that this was a scam. She told me her parents left her money and she needed my help to access those funds. Finally the excitement came!
I happened to be reading the book Power vs Force by David R. Hawkins. The book is about using muscle testing (kinesiology) to detect the truth. The truth makes our muscles go strong and lies make our muscles go weak. So if someone pushes gently down on your outstretched arm while you are exposed to the truth your arm will stay strong and won't go down. If however they push down on your arm while you are exposed to a lie, your muscles will go weak and your arm will fall down.
I did not need to have someone pushing down on arm however for this to work. That is what got me so excited. You see, I finally got it. The truth increases your energy so your muscles become strong and you get that excited feeling. Lies on the other hand lower your energy so muscles go weak and you get that sinking feeling. So if I have been paying attention to my feelings I would have known instantly whether what I was being told was a truth or a lie. Most of us constantly ignore what our feelings are trying to tell us, which is a pity because it turns out we have a built-in scam detector that God (or nature if you wish) provided us with!

Find Your Passion
It is important to indulge your passions. For me currently it's watching musicals. This is a passion I share with my daughter and niece and whether it's Hairspray, The Blues Brothers or Jesus Christ Superstar we make quite a spectacle of ourselves. This baffles members of our family who believe that movies must be watched, not sung.
Indulging your passion increases your joy and according to the Law of Attraction, "like attracts like". When you feel joy you will attract more opportunities to feel joy. That is why, "it never rains but pours". Bad things tend to follow each other in succession. When something happens to you that makes you feel bad, those bad feelings will attract more events that make you continue to feel bad. The same applies to good things (think of the lucky streak). As Jesus taught, (Matthew 13:12, Luke 8:18) you get more of what you already have. If you have joy you get more joy etc.
So indulge your passion as long as your passion does not harm you, other people, animals or the planet because the Law of Karma says "You get what you give out". So if you harm others harm will come to you.
